How Can you forgive yourself for past mistakes?
Surely, people don’t understand the results of being a single mother and the sacrifices you must make for your child. Particularly, no, it’s not fair but we don’t have no one else to depend on but God. As you know, life isn’t fair but we have to be adults about the situation and be the best mother to our child or children that we possibly can be.
Likewise, I am talking to single mothers, the mothers that fathers left them and abandon their children without a goodbye. Sadly, the single mother who have children who never met their fathers. Above all, yes, I am talking to you or the mother who is recently divorce, Overall, trying to figure out everything on her own because I know your pain because I am a single mother.
Is it Hard to forgive Yourself for Past Mistakes?
Despite all the hurt and pain, it is now time to forgive yourself for past mistakes. Trust me, I know there are many days and nights where you would cry yourself to sleep. Nevertheless, wondering why but at the end of the day, you have no one to blame but yourselves. As we result, you chose the person that you thought will love you forever, but you were ever so wrong. To demonstrate, your actions come with powerful consequences.
In the same way, I’m not here to judge you, I’m only speaking the facts and truths. Overall, you were only blinded by love. Similarly, I know because I was too, I knew my son’s father was no good, but I still loved him.
Meanwhile, his own mother told me he was no good and my father told me he wasn’t no good, but I refused to listen. At the end of the day, God has forgiven you for your past mistakes but now it’s time for you to forgive yourself for past mistakes. Presently, we all make mistakes in life, but we learn from our mistakes do not allow them to happen again.
The Hardest Part About Life is to Forgive Yourself for Past Mistakes
Significantly, you know what one of the hardest things in world was for me to forgive myself for past mistakes that I have made in the past. Especially, one of the hardest things in the world for me to do was to forgive myself for having a child outside of marriage. For instances, why couldn’t I forgive myself is because the world we live in is so judgmental, people are always judging you or looking down on you.
On the negative side, no one is trying to help you to forgive yourself for past mistakes you have made. Including, what makes it worst is the fact that I grew up in a Baptist church so that was a Big NO, NO!!! I WAS GOING TO HELL AND LIVING IN SIN!!! Of course, I had a child out of wedlock.
Forgive Myself for Past mistakes
As I was growing up, I always wanted to be a wife. I dream about the wedding day, my career and having our first kids. I never imagine or dream I would be a single mother. Clearly, I never thought I would have my first child at the young age of nineteen. Furthermore, who knew all my sins would catch up with me or all my actions came with powerful consequences.
Uh Oh No, I never imagine I will be raising a son without a father. Despite, when I first found out I was pregnant I was more shocked than anything. Besides, I was scared but I knew I had to have my baby and take full responsibility of my actions. Nonetheless, How did I get pregnant? Indeed, I know we always asked that question but to be honest the doctors always told me I could never have kids.
My Biggest Fear in Life
Even so, we see the doctors lied, but they were shocked when they found out I was pregnant. Lol, they even asked me how I got pregnant, it was impossible for me to get pregnant. In addition to the fact, they wanted me to terminate my pregnancy, but I was too far along.
And (still) what’s more scaring is the fact that they said I was going to die. To say nothing of, my baby was going to die. Again, I was not afraid of dying because that was a complete lie, and I was not speaking that over my life.
To be honest my biggest fear in life was I will forever be a single mother, but God told me something. “If I fully commit my spirit into The Lord, obey all of His commandments, He will send me a Godly fearing husband to love me and my son as his very own child!” “For no eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived the wonderful things that God has prepared for those that love Him” (1 Corinthians 2:9).
My God is More Powerful than Doctors
Under those circumstances, I found out I was having a boy I was very surprised. Because my parents had all girls and its mostly women in my family. Truly, I was thinking to myself, what am I going to do? Most compelling evidence, I can’t raise a boy into a man. In fact, my family made sure they kept telling me a woman cannot raise a boy into a man.
As a result, I told myself I might not be able to raise my son into a man. Certainly, with God on my side I will do my very best and be the best mother to my son until God sends my husband into our lives! In Proverb 22:6 “Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old, he will not depart from.”
Life Happens Sometimes
Sooner or later, if you did not know, when I was 16 or 17 years, I was diagnosed with a disease called Lupus. On the negative side, it was the same disease that my mother died from when I was 8 years old. Not only-but also having lupus, being pregnant at such a young age.
While weighing under a 100 pounds was a death sentence for me or my baby according to the doctors. For instance, I was at such a high-risk during pregnancy I was going to so many different high risks doctors.
At that instant, my baby couldn’t even breath on his own, I was taking different medications to help him breath. To begin with, I was too small and too sick to have a baby. We were not meant to survive, in fact, I was schedule to have a C-Section, but I went into labor at 8 months.
God Made a Miracle Happen and Put My Doctors to Shame
At the present time, that night it was pouring down raining so hard I could not make it to my main doctor. In due time, I went to the local hospital. By same token, the doctors were going to try a natural delivery first. By the grace of God I had my baby boy with a natural birth. Up to the present time, tearing was running down my face, I was so thankful that I had a healthy 5 lbs 7 oz baby boy name Zechariah.
Shocking, the next morning my doctors came, they kept running different tests on me, looking shock and confused as ever. At the same time, they pulled my father aside and said they needed to talk to him. Not understanding what was going on, all I knew was that I had a natural birth with a healthy baby boy.
The Doctors Were Wrong
Without a doubt, the doctors came back in the room with my father, they looked at me and tried to explain what happened to me. First and foremost, they could not find any trace of lupus in my body, it has deteriorated.
Whereas, from the medications I was taking and the fluids from my son Zechariah when I was pregnant with him. Glory to God, Praise God, I was so young, but God cured me from the same diseases that took my mother life away.
Not to mention, if I never had my son, I would have been dead but God saved my life. What the enemy meant for bad, God turn it into something good. Not only.. but also, I forgive myself for past mistakes and having a child outside of marriage. Notwithstanding, the Lord Jesus Christ gave me a second chance at life so I forgive myself, He has already forgiven me so I will do the same for myself.
Is It Easy Being A Single Mother?
Without a doubt, no, it’s not easy being a single mother. Unquestionably, I had to make sacrifices for my son but that is okay because my son is a blessing. Then again, I’m thankful to have Zechariah in my life. In like manner, he gives me so much joy and makes me so happy. Identically, when I’m sad, he brightens my day, and he always says something to put a smile on my face.
“The Lord is my helper, I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?” (Psalm 118:6) or “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” (Philippians 4:13) will help provide tangible reminders of His love and protection when things get tough or stressful.
Do Not Lose Faith in God
To clarify, what I’m saying if you are a single mother, do not lose faith because it’s still hope for you. Be that as it may, not seem but trust me God haven’t forgotten about you. Instead, God wants is your love, praise and for you to worship Him. Indeed, I don’t care what it looks like; God can change everything around for you. Simply, if you are a struggling mother, just know struggle means greatness is inside of you and God is preparing you for your husband.
Obviously, do not be focus on your situation or your future husband. Given these points, keep your eyes on Jesus Christ and watch how God will change everything around for the better. After all, I decree and declare that you shall be the Godly woman God called you to be, you will be the mother of many nations and you are the Proverb 31 woman!
Equally important, do not lose sight woman of God, do not let loneliest interfere with your destiny in life. During your time of singleness keep your eyes focus on Jesus Christ. As can be seen, a man should pursue you and you should never pursue a man. In Proverb 18:22 “He who finds a wife finds a good thing and obtains favor from the LORD.”

What a victorious testimony! Just goes to show if God be for you, then who can be against you.
This is a true testament of how faithful our God is. Lord Jesus demonstrated His devine love and compassion in the life of Christy, and it was meant for a purpose like this, to serve as an inspiration in the lives of other women that might be going through what she went through, and guide others to wait on the Lord. What a mighty God we serve.
